COVER, R. SIDE *R191* (AMERICAN RED) 83500-MZ0-000ZD This side cover is one of 4 that I had painted together with the center section and both fenders of a '97 that I an restoring for a collector license designation, figuring that I'd be able to reduce the cost doing them all at once. The RED paint was $212, the reducer $58, the catalyst/hardener $65. This is all the proper Pitsburg paint as stated by Honda, the total for the paint supplies $335. The apportioned amount to THIS side cover is $55. ÿI drove these pieces a total of 1500 miles, dropping them off and picking them up, because it's the only painter in the Northwest that I truct to match Honda for quality: Austen's Autobody in Canby OR. $20 for gas for this cover. ÿ The job is immaculate, utilizing the exact same components as Honda did, and frankly it looks better than new stock: deeper clearcoat. The labor was $105 for this cover. The cover itself was $130 to buy.ÿThis is only available because when I found out that the American Red color is no longer available from Honda, I figured I may as well help someone else out, as well as get a better price on the lot. ÿIf you were to paint just this side cover to proper stock quality (if you could find a good painter), theÿ"1-item job" would be about $350, mainly due to the fact that the paint, reducers, etc would be over $160 buying the least quantities you can buy. In a nutshell: the price is a deal for an essentially 'new' side cover, which is now a Dinosaur at Honda, and this IS way below my cost. And it is gorgeous.
