This is a very good one-year-only front left hand caliper for 1983.
Dissassembled, cleaned, seal-ridges cleaned, pistons polished, seals checked. Pivot bushing removed, polished, greased (hi-temp silicon). Push-pad plate cleaned. Pins cleaned and checked. Bore spec'd.
REASSEMBLED: Pads, 60%. Pins: Good. Bores: just plain EXCELLENT. Pistons: good. Seal: mains: Good, dust-seals: Poor: replace at next opportunity. Bleed screw: cleaned, polished shut-off. Exterior: Good, way above average for age. Summary: this is a nice, clean pop n' drop front left caliper, pads installed will give you 12-15k miles normal driving. Installation: grease nothing but the main pivot pin grommet. The rest has the best of the proper lubricants already. OF NOTE: Although this doesn't have the drilled hole to mount the water-guard, it is otherwise identical to the rear caliper, and without the water-guard attached can be utilized in that position.
