GL1000 1978 Carburetor Rack, rebuilt. Carb numbers 769A, on the 1978 year before they de-tuned them for California regulations. Hence, a good replacement for the ?78 or ?79 771A Carb sets. This set: Linkage is all good. Bodies are all good, with one heli-coil done professionally. Fasteners are all OEM. Opened it up to find it decently clean inside, but with the rattle-ring on #4 missing, the float bowls out of whack in formation as well as very a multitude of poor float-level settings. Disassembled all jets, all parts except the plenum. All passages soaked, both air and fuel, blown out. That was done three times, then a fourth when about to re-assemble. All jets are stock OEM Honda. I did not use the ones in the kit purchased because this jet-set is specific to the 769A?s. All jets are in excellent condition. All jets soaked for two days, nicely clean. All new O-rings and gaskets placed. All linkage lubricated, and checked. Air cut-off dis-assembled and checked out as good. Floats set at 21mm. Pilots set at 2 turns out. Vacuum caps given a basic polish to check for damage, and cleaned inside for smooth operation. The plastic top-caps are much better than usual, with very little of the typical dryness and cracking. Stays shown in the pic come with the set. If this set was 5 years old, I say they were fair. As they are 48 years old, I call them very, very good. The manifolds are also included. I did not remove them, as they make a good stand for the rack while working on the top-side, and good handles to roll for the bottom side. They were polished at some point, and it would take very little work to have them gleaming. My objective was to make the insides and operation good. If you want to spend the time to pretty up the outside, that?s your choice. I already have 8+ hours into them over 3 days while in between soakings. As is for all carburetor sets going on to a different engine they will have to be synchronized properly with vacuums and tach. There?s no sense having a really nice rack of carbs that are poorly set-up. And this is a really nice set. Many high-res pics available at request or a sincere shopper. Yes, I ship world-wide, and yes I will consider a reasonable offer. Bearin in mind: the rack: worth $300. The kit: $80. My time: $640. Methinks the price is a more than fair deal.

USA REQUIRED TARIFFS ARE INCLUDED IN THE PRICE, NO duties due at delivery

PLEASE NOTE: Regardless whether the part attracts a tariff or not, we have REDUCED ALL PRICING by 35%, so there are some extremely good deals happening.

Only about 350 of 2850 of our available parts require tariffs to be paid when shipped to the USA. Prices for GL1000 parts [made in Japan], any GL1800 parts produced after 2010 [made in Japan] are higher for my American friends, and this is why:
Effective August 29 2025: No tariffs on Goldwing parts from models made from 1980 to 2010: they were made in the USA. Prices on parts from pre-1980 and post-2010 Goldwing models, to US citizens (of which I have over 6000 really great people as customers), now include a tariff-tax, a customs brokerage fee, and a per item Customs document admin fee.
The costs, when they apply, must paid BY THE SELLER ON BEHALF OF THE BUYER, on ALL goods NOT MADE IN THE USA. That is the new USA tariff tax as of Aug 29th 2025: and it is USA law, and is effectively a tax on all products not *Made in the USA*.

OTHERS: PLEASE NOTE :

All customers outside of the USA who are buying "TARIFFED" items on the Straightwings site WILL BE REFUNDED 30% of the ITEM PRICE to remove those added costs, after purchase, based on your country which is not the USA.

Just buy what you need and we will refund the amount as above. We are working hard to encode the variances in our site-programming to segregate the pricing between the countries to account for the tariff taxes which may be due as is mandated by the US government but not other countries.

It is a very expensive and time-costly effort for us to help all *Goldwingers* to obtain often-rare parts when you are in the USA, but as well to be fair to all the buyers in outside the USA who are not subjected to that tax: but I will NOT desert my USA clients. I have worked hard for 25 years to make available quality parts which aid Goldwing riders. While the tariffs are most unfortunate between neighbours, the parts we sell are still great parts, properly assessed, at the fairest price possible. I hope all my USA customers understand this, and continue to patronize StraightWings, a premier Goldwing quality used parts site.
